There are 2 styles of video
1. Highlight Video
2. Documentary/Reality TV
HIGHLIGHT VIDEOS: Simple and straight forward highlight of your wedding. Cinematic shots with music, intercut with sound bites and audio clips.
For these I charge based on the length of the video and never my hours (most charge 4hr/6hr/8hr packages). That way you don’t have to decide what’s more important to you, the beginning, middle or end.
For highlight videos I’m typically a one-person crew. But depending on the scope of the wedding and what needs to be captured, additional crew may be needed.
Documentary/Reality TV: Unfortunately I don’t have any personal examples as this is a somewhat new approach to wedding videos. But in this style we shoot your wedding like its a Reality TV show. This results in a longer form video following the events of the day with more talking heads and interviews from guests, family members and anyone else who want to speak about the couple on camera. But not only the wedding day, this could also include the preparation for the wedding like shopping for the dress/suits if they haven’t been picked yet or a dinner party the night before. Whatever it might be, the options are endless.
An example of this would be from Justin Porter Media: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqd33ujCcME
For this style, ideally, one additional shooter minimum is recommended but depending on the scope and complexity of the wedding, options can be discussed!
I don’t charge based on the length of the video and instead it’s based off the scope, complexity, crew and equipment needed to execute your video as best we can!
